A STUDY INTO THE WAYS OF CREATING TITLES IN VIETNAMESE AND ENGLISH ONLINE NEWSPAPER

Abstract

The research investigates 100 titles of Vietnamese online newspaper and 100 titles of English ones on 2 aspects: grammatical structure and word usage. The main objective of this research is to study and compare the ways of creating titles on Vietnamese and English online newspaper in order to find out the similarities and differences in this issue. Accordingly, the research has found out the similarities and differences in the ways of naming titles for online newspaper’s articles in Vietnamese and English language in terms of grammatical structure and word usage. Ultimately, the language of Vietnamese and English online newspaper is further understood and applied into the teaching of linguistics, stylistics and translation
